How to play

Each player finds a partner. (There must be an even number of players for this game. A helper could be used to make up any odd number)
One of each pair is a horse and one is a jockey.
The players are to form a large circle, but leaving enough room between the circle and the wall to run around.
As part of the circle the horse is to stand in front and the jockey behind the horse.
To begin the game the Jockeys are to mount the horses piggyback style.
Then instructions are given which are to start on the command "go" from the game leader.
Generally the horse stays as part of the circle and the jockey carries out the instructions.
The instructions are as follows:

1) Mount - the jockey is to get onto the back of the horse.
2) Dismount - the jockey is to get off of the back of the horse.
3) Over the horses head - the horse is to crouch down and the jockey goes over their head.
4) Under the horses legs - the horse is to open their legs and the jockey crawls under.
5) Round the horse - the jockey is to run around the horse.
6) Once round to the right - the jockey is to run around the outside of the circle once to the right.
7) Once round to the left - the jockey is to run around the outside of the circle once to the left.
8) The horse is to carry the jockey once to the right (or left) - As it says but right around the circle. (This instruction is best left to the last few remaining)
Any combination of the above directions can be given. The last team to complete the task are out.
Each instruction carried out is completed by the jockey remounting.

Example instruction:
Mount
2 times around to the right
around the horse
2 times around to the left
remount
GO

Give rests for the horses by dismounting when long instructions are given out.
Instructions will need to be repeated.
Those who do not carry out the instructions correctly are considered out.
Once a team is out they are to sit down and form part of the circle. (the teams who are out will mark out the circle.)

Once there is a winner the horses and jockeys change places and the game begins again.
