How to play

One person is blindfolded and sat down at one end of the hall on the floor with a whistle in front of them. They are the "Blind Pirate". The game leader sits behind the "Blind Pirate". The other players line up at the other end of the hall.

There must be total silence for this game.

The game leader point to one of the players and tells the Blind Pirate that the is one on the way. The Blind Pirate is to listen for the direction that that person is coming. When the Blind Pirate thinks they know where they are they are to raise their arm and point. When the Blind Pirate points the other players must stand still. The game leader checks to see if the Blind pirate is pointing at anyone. If they are then that player must sit down where they are. If not then the game may continue. Once anyone has made it to the Blind Pirate they must pick up the whistle and blow it, or the keys and shake them. That person then goes and sits out until the game is finished.

This game is best played in a room with creaky floorboards. If the surface is hard do not allow the other players to take off their shoes, this will then give the pirate more of a chance.
The whistle is more fun, but do not let the players blow it right in the poor pirate ear.
The pirate may point at anyone right up to the point they blow the whistle, so if they are noisy picking it up then they could be caught before they blow it. Do not allow the pirate to point too many times as to stop the other players from moving very far.
Insist on total silence throughout the game.
More than one player can be one the way at a time, just let the pirate know how many.
Once all the players are out or have made it remove the blindfold and allow the pirate to see how many they got and where they were and how many got passed. Then start again with a different pirate.
