| It may be that the service sheets will be taken home after the service so that the colouring and the word search can be completed. |
10.30 Family Service |
Have an image or picture on the front or at the top of the service sheet. It is useful to include a text so as to give a pointer to what the service will be about. Often we have included a picture that can be coloured in; this may be appreciated by the younger ones when they start to get bored, or even some of us older ones. |
| Hymns numbers on this sheet are from Mission Praise. | ||

The song could be something that the younger children could join in with. Perhaps one were they do not need to read the words. |

A "children's talk" will always help to make them feel part of what is going on, and for those services where there is no sunday school then what about an activity during the "Adult Talk". This need only last ten minutes, something active involving drawing/ colouring/ sticking, to make a poster or banner illustrating a theme from the reading, could include their own prayers written or drawn. |

Add a word search. These will keep older children happy and give them words from the reading to think about whilst they look for them.
If you have a spreadsheet on your computer, then simply square up the cells, centralise the text and add the letters as the example above.
